Star Wars drawing, "The Accolade", by John Corbet, in the style of Georges Seurat, conté crayon on paper. Jedi surrenders to Darth Vader. |
I would like to do a series of Star Wars drawings, in the style of Georges Seurat, in celebration of the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.
I had some trouble finding a title for this one. I think the question of the story which this drawing is telling is open to interpretation. I finally decided on "The Accolade", because I see the female jedi on the left surrendering to Darth Vader, or turning to the dark side. Darth Vader raises his lightsaber, ready to swear her into the oath of evil, perhaps. All this takes place in the midst of a snowstorm in the remote regions of some snow planet; perhaps the planet Hoth (the snow planet in Empire Strikes Back). Though I was not directly inspired by Edmund Leighton's painting "The Accolade", I now do see the similarity, now that the drawing is complete.
